Privacy Policy

Effective September 21, 2026 · Pro Bono Vault · VCVX Inc.

Who operates this service

Pro Bono Vault is owned and operated by VCVX Inc. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected]. Please do not email passwords, identity documents, or confidential case materials with your initial request.

Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, we process account and contact information, a hashed password, account role, language and location preferences, organization and attorney profiles, searches and referrals, help requests, pledge and service records, uploaded documents, and saved AC research conversations and results. We also record selected interaction events, such as searches and resource clicks, and technical or security logs. You can browse public resources without an account.

How information is used

We use information to run accounts, match users with resources, provide requested research, manage provider listings and help requests, generate requested reports, communicate about platform activity, improve the service, and prevent abuse. Public organization or attorney profiles and voluntarily published participation information may be visible to other visitors. Information submitted for a referral or help request may be shared with the provider involved in that request.

AI research and service providers

Research inputs may be sent to AI processing services and legal-information sources to produce answers. Hosting, database, file storage and email services also process data needed to operate the platform. Pro Bono Vault is built and hosted on Abacus AI. Service providers may process information in locations outside your state or country. Do not submit material you are not authorized to share. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate; submitting information does not create an attorney-client relationship or guarantee confidentiality or legal privilege.

Optional newsletters

Newsletters require an explicit opt-in. Creating an account or being listed as a provider does not subscribe you. We keep your preference, consent wording and date, and send-attempt records. You can withdraw consent through Newsletter preferences or the unsubscribe link in an email, without affecting essential account messages. Campaign status records email-service acceptance, not proof that you opened or received an email in your inbox.

Cookies and local storage

We use authentication cookies and browser storage for essential account, preference and reliability functions. Read our Cookie Notice for details. Hosting and technical service providers may also process technical request information.

Retention, security and your choices

We retain information while needed for the purposes described here, account administration, security, dispute handling and applicable legal duties. Retention depends on the record type; backups may persist after a deletion request. We use access controls and other safeguards, but no online service is risk-free. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or restrict certain uses of your information, and to withdraw consent or object to processing. Send requests to the privacy contact above; we may need to verify your identity. You may also contact your local privacy regulator. Some records may need to be retained where legally required.

Children, external sites and updates

The account service is not intended for children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted information should contact us. Provider and news links lead to independent sites with their own privacy practices. We may update this policy and will revise the effective date; material changes will be communicated where required.
